B: Thank gawd! He didn't let me sleep for five days!!!

Wedding + Family Vacation

Gorgeous wedding for two very loved people, In-and-Out Burger, swimming and wrestling with cousins, jeep with the top off, sisters in law, early morning explorations and Peet's Coffee, In-and-Out Burger, Sea World soak zone, history, museums, Zoo with meerkats and facepaint, fresh fish, karate chopping waves, champagne, body-surfing, Blue Demon Jr. Mexican wrestling cape with mask!!!, beaches, relaxing...

I can't wait until Van is 5 and he can be in 4-H! We might not be able to raise animals right now but I think his bug collections would impress ;)  They had great photographs and leather-work by the kids...so impressive.  I love goats-cute and silly. This cow was just so gentle looking with her long eyelashes.

Would sure love to see this (Friday @ Red Rocks) but will dream about it in the meantime :)

"g" =grasshoppers. Our discussion based on their different colors!  They all came from the same backyard but different places depending on what is/isn't growing there...CAMO!

Great writing...the time and patience that this took from a highly gifted gross motor kid is evident! What a perfect way to work on fine motor skills and more closely observe the pine beetle!

Trapped Indoors Activity #2: Fort Building

Over the past few weeks we have experienced days where it is best to stay indoors due to smoke from nearby forest fires. Here is one of the favorite ways to pass time...build it, fish from it, hunt from it, read in it, cuddle in it...destroy it...rebuild it...

The Big Clean-Out--Trapped Indoors Activity #1

Van's room is that of a hoarder with two hoarding parents....we cleaned out in a major way this evening. He was willing to part with a couple things. The full bag and box that I took out were done more sneakily but it's doubtful that he will even notice.  Here is a list of odd/interesting items that we found...


-corroded battery
-3 disassembled flashlights
-all of my missing hair-ties
-rocks, rocks, maybe 40 rocks
-3 pine cones, one from California that is round

-8 toilet paper rolls

I tell Van that we will not go to the movies unless he changes into pants because I think it's probably a little colder in the theater. Selfishly, I want to see Brave because I could possibly admire the Celtic Merida and I love that our theater has it's own butter dispensing machine for your popcorn!  He's into my plan...


...walks into the room carrying THE DOOR FROM HIS DRESSER!  I think, "Of course this is happening, what else would he do...seriously?"

Me: What happened? Why are you carrying that door...it should be on your dresser!?!?
Van: It just fell off in my hands...
Me: Nope, that doesn't happen. Things don't just fall off like that...
Van: Well I wanted it to be straight!!!!!!
Me: So you took it off?
Van: No, I ripped it off...I was just too berustrated (frustrated...he's been adding b to the beginning of a lot of words lately...buchother=eachother, etc).

Pants on...heading to the movie, if he drinks the rest of his milk from dinner ;)
